This is an instructional and developmental program for beginners as well as seasoned players.
Your player will need a baseball glove, batting helmet, protective cup, athletic (running) shoes or rubber cleats, and it is recommended they bring a drink to every game and practice
Basic skills are developed – pitching, batting, running bases, catching and throwing. Players are also taught how to "make plays" using simple team work skills. FUN, LEARNING and TEAMWORK are emphasized at this age. All players are encouraged to try every position on the field. Players must provide their own batting helmets.
There will be at least 1 home game, 1 away game and one practice a week. There are roughly 20 games per season. Games are 1 3/4 hours and practices are 2 hours in length. Players must be at the field 30 minutes before the start of the game.
There will be a games scheduled Sat June 6 for Opening/Picture Day
On Frank Colman Day, Sat.July 11, 3-4 players chosen from each team will participate in an All Star game at Labatt Park.
At the end of the season, in mid-August, there is a playoff tournament that allows every player to showcase the skills they have developed.
We are currently looking for someone to run Mosquito Indoor Clinics. Clinics will not be offered if we can't find someone to run them.
All clinics are free to registered players, however a $50 clinic fee will be assessed to any player that attends clinics and then withdraws from EBBA. Players that were registered in 2019 can attend clinics until Jan 25, after which time all players attending clinics must be registered and paid for the 2020 season. Players not registered for the 2019 season must be registered for the 2020 season in order to attend clinics
Players are required to bring a glove, non-marking indoor running shoes, protective cup, and refillable water bottle.
Indoor conditioning sessions will be held on Mondays at Louise Arbour FI PS. from 6:00-8:00pm
All house league Mosquito players are recommended to attend these free sessions.
Mosquito players who played with EBBA in 2019 or who are registered for the 2020 season:
Open for any Mosquitos who have registered and paid for the 2020 season (6:00-8:00pm):
March 16 - closed for March break
Evaluations will take place during the indoor clinics
