game in every aspect for both teams, with the Sens winning 3-2 in extra innings
(8).
Behind 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning
Andrew Moffat hit a monster one-out home run to get us within
one.
In the bottom of the fifth Shayne Sadler led off
with a single and later scored on a Ryan Lovenjak single to tie the
game.
In the bottom of the seventh inning Geoff Gerrits
led off with a double but some excellent pitching by the Thamesford reliever
kept us from scoring the winner.
In the bottom of the eighth Ryan Lovenjak hit a
one-out single, got to third on a single by Daniel Livingston and scored on
a Championship game winning single by
Jonathan Jones!
Pitchers Shayne Sadler and Geoff Gerrits each
pitched 4 innings and combined to throw a no-hitter in the
win!
Special thanks to call ups Aaron Flesher and Kale
Sillers from the Cardinals who both played extremely well in Saturday's
games to help us get to the Sunday final.

A Champions - Aylmer 1
Bantam
Thanks to the perseverance of all involved, we were able to
complete the Bantam playoffs this weekend in spite of some
uncooperative weather.
The B Division games were particularly exciting, with every one
decided by a single run. In the semis, the Kings advanced over North
and Aylmer made it past Woodstock. In the final on Sunday morning,
Aylmer prevailed over a short-staffed Kings squad to win 9-8.
Congratulations to Alymer as B Champions and the Kings as B Finalists.
The A semis were water-logged, with Thamesford beating Ingersoll
Red and the Dorchester Diamondbacks beating the Cubs. I really
appreciate both teams and their parents putting up with the wet
conditions. The A final was moved to Thamesford on Sunday, with
Thamesford winning 8-4 over the Diamondbacks, who played well in front
of a vocal home crowd; bringng the tieing run to the plate in their
last at-bat. Congratulations to Thamesford as A Campions, and to the
Diamondbacks as A Finalists.
