Eager Beaver Baseball Association (EBBA) is a co-ed baseball league in London, Ontario, Canada.

EBBA is a 100% VOLUNTEER staffed and run organization. With a little elbow grease and a lot of enthusiasm, getting involved makes ALL the difference - ask how YOU can help! "Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something." - Author Unknown

2016 is our 62nd year of offering baseball to children and young adults. If you or someone you know loves baseball, and are between the ages of 4 and 21, come check us out, and please sign our guestbook!

  • 2016 Season

The Annual General Meeting for Eager Beaver Baseball Association was held on October 3, 2016. The official notice of meeting was sent to the members, via email newsletter, on September 10. The notice was also posted on the EBBA website and on the EBBA Facebook group page.
Only 15 members attended the meeting and only 9 volunteered for a board position. This left 3 board positions unfilled. Numerous positions on the volunteer job list were also left unfilled. EBBA is a volunteer league and without volunteers, there is no league. A nine member volunteer board cannot run a successful baseball program for 500 players.
With the overwhelming lack of support, your new board will be faced with some difficult decisions. Your board will be looking at the following options for the 2017 season.

    1. Do not run the program at all since there are not enough volunteers to manage and administrate a successful program. Trying to run a program without enough volunteers only creates problems and results in a sub-standard program and unhappy players and parents.

    2. Cut back on the program to make it a manageable size for the board. This would entail eliminating certain divisions (such as t-ball) and programs (such as preseason workouts), shortening the season and eliminating playoffs.

    3. Create a number of paid positions, hire to fill them, and then incorporate the additional cost into the registration fees.

There is another option. There is still time to volunteer. 3 board positions are open. The job list is posted below and there are numerous positions available. All you and your fellow parents need to do is fill one spot, contribute in one way, and EBBA will again be a viable association. Some jobs are time consuming, but not all. Those that are time consuming only last a short period of time. Some require no baseball knowledge, only organization skills and desire. Desire to provide the best baseball program possible for your child..
Please review the list below and consider the options above. As the saying goes, if everyone contributes a little, we can accomplish a lot.

Little Sluggers Director - Keith Blois
Little Sluggers Helper - 6 positions open
     T-Ball Director - open

Or, you can show up at the next board meeting, October 24 at 7pm at the league office, test out a board meeting and see where you feel you could fit in. Warning - Board members have been known to form lasting friendships and develop an unhealthy love of BBQ'd hotdogs!

    2016 Annual General Meeting

EBBA would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting on Monday, October 3rd at 7:00pm. This meeting is your chance to hear about the current state of the league, and most importantly, an opportunity to become involved in the future of the league.
If you are interested in becoming active with the league, would like to see what is involved in running the league, have questions about why things are done a certain way, liked certain aspects of the league, or did not like certain aspects of the league, please plan to attend. It is only through your input and interest that EBBA can continue to offer a quality baseball program for our children. EBBA is the longest running minor sports association in London, and is run entirely by volunteers. Your support, in time and energy, is needed so that EBBA can continue to offer your child a place to learn and develop their baseball skills and an appreciation of team sports and fair play.
All board terms are one year, and there will be at least 3 current board members that will not be running for 2017. This means we will need new volunteers to fill the vacancies. Time commitment for board members is one meeting a month and your choice of duties from the job list. You can choose as many jobs or few as you have time for. Duties could be as simple as assisting with a one time event or assuming a position that could last the better part of the year. There are also duties that can be fulfilled by non-board members. A full list of duties and a short explanation of what is required for each duty is attached.
Also attached is an agenda, and a proxy voting form, so that even if you cannot attend, your vote can still count. Parents of children registered with EBBA and volunteers have the right to vote.

Please mark October 3 on your calendar and plan to support EBBA by attending.

Notice is hereby given to you, a MEMBER of the Eager Beaver Baseball Association, that the Annual General Meeting will be held at the EBBA office, front meeting room, 652 Elizabeth Street, London, on the 3rd of October, 2016 at 7:00 P.M.
